Effective date: March 1, 2026 · Last updated: March 25, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Disliketionary ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Platform. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Platform.

2. Platform Description

Disliketionary is a global debate and discussion platform built around structured conflict. Users create debate topics, share perspectives, vote on arguments, and engage with a community of diverse viewpoints. The Platform uses AI-assisted features for content categorization and community moderation. Disliketionary is not a news source; all content represents individual user opinions and perspectives.

3. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the Platform. By creating an account, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and complete. You authenticate via Google OAuth and are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Content & Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of the content you create on Disliketionary. By posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely in connection with operating and promoting the Platform. You represent that you have all necessary rights to post your content and that it does not infringe on any third-party rights. We may remove content at our discretion. The Platform’s design, branding, source code, and proprietary features are owned by Disliketionary and protected by intellectual property laws.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to: (a) post content that is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, or incites violence; (b) harass, bully, or intimidate other users; (c) impersonate any person or entity; (d) post spam, malware, or deceptive content; (e) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform’s systems or other users’ accounts; (f) use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data without permission; (g) use the Platform for any commercial purpose without prior written consent; (h) manipulate voting or engagement metrics through artificial means.

6. Content Moderation & Enforcement

We employ both automated systems and human review to enforce these Terms. We reserve the right to remove, edit, or restrict any content that violates these Terms or that we deem harmful to the community, without prior notice. Repeated or severe violations may result in temporary suspension or permanent termination of your account. We aim to apply our policies consistently but acknowledge that moderation requires judgment calls that may vary by context.

7. AI-Generated Content Disclosure

Disliketionary uses artificial intelligence to assist with content categorization, topic suggestions, and platform features. Some content on the Platform may be generated or assisted by AI systems. We are committed to transparency about the role of AI on our Platform. AI-assisted features are designed to enhance, not replace, genuine human discourse.

8. Privacy & Data

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Third-Party Services

The Platform integrates with third-party services including Google (authentication), Supabase (database infrastructure), Vercel (hosting), and Anthropic (AI services). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for the practices or policies of third-party services.

10. Disclaimers

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We do not endorse or guarantee the accuracy of any user content. User opinions expressed on the Platform are solely those of the respective users.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DISLIKETIONARY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PLATFORM. Our total liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Disliketionary, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. For users in the European Union, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

14. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the Platform or email. Your continued use of the Platform after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with the changes, you should discontinue use of the Platform.

15. Severability & Waiver

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
