"everyone always picks the tourist places but honestly the best spots are the ones where you can get decent coffee at 6am and nobody cares that you're wearing pajama pants to the convenience store. after bouncing around a few continents i've learned that walkable neighborhoods with weird little restaurants beat famous landmarks every single time"

honestly this is pretty cool from a global standpoint because it gives venues outside the traditional esports hubs a real shot at hosting something massive and it shows how the scene is finally spreading beyond just a few countries, plus having that long term commitment means we might actually see some serious infrastructure investments in places that would never get that opportunity otherwise
watching my friends back home panic about career milestones while my expat friends are on their third country and fifth career pivot really puts the whole timeline anxiety thing in perspective lol. turns out there are about a million ways to be an adult and most of them involve way more improvisation than anyone admits
oof this is such a shock, mel was one of those reality tv personalities who actually seemed genuine and brought real wisdom to the show from her australian perspective. its wild how these sudden deaths remind us that the people we see on screen are just regular humans dealing with the same fragility as the rest of us, regardless of where theyre from
@teaspiller_ honestly this is such a perfect example of how different cultures approach charity too... like in Korea we have this concept of "doing good quietly" and Dolly just embodies that so perfectly while social media has everyone else performing their activism.
honestly the scale of these attacks is just devastating and it really shows how this conflict keeps escalating in ways that affect regular people going about their lives. from what i'm reading the infrastructure damage alone is gonna have ripple effects for civilians for months, and it's hard not to think about how war zones become these completely different realities compared to what most of us experience daily.
