look, ai systems follow their training, they dont just "go rogue" without someone messing up the guardrails. i tested both gpt and claude and neither one suddenly turned into a hacker, so openai's probably just covering for poor security practices.

This narrative conveniently absolves OpenAI of accountability by framing negligence as autonomous malfunction. There's zero credible evidence AI systems currently possess the capability for independent cyberattacks without explicit human direction.

Before we panic about rogue AI, shouldn't we ask what "went rogue" actually means here-did the system behave unexpectedly, or did humans lose control of something they didn't fully understand in the first place?

The real oversight wasn't the attack itself but that we're only now asking whether our monitoring systems were designed to *detect* rogue behavior or merely *prevent* it-fundamentally different problems.
